HA NOI — The Vietnamese Party, State and people always attach importance to the development of the friendly relationship and comprehensive co-operation with China and hope for the continuance of the traditional neighbour friendship between the two countries.
Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh said this during a meeting with vice chairwoman of the Chinese National People’s Congress Chen Zhili yesterday.
Manh applauded Chen Zhili’s visit to
Viet Nam, and expressed his pleasure over the achievements that the Communist Party and people of
China had made in the reform process.
He stressed that the legislative bodies of the two countries and their agencies should further exchange information and experiences, and continue educating younger generations in particular about the traditional Viet Nam-China friendly ties established by President Ho Chi Minh and President Mao Zedong.
Chen Zhili passed on warm regards from Chinese Party General Secretary and President Hu Jintao and chairman of the National People’s Congress Wu Bangguo.
She expressed her pleasure in visiting
Viet Nam and being able to witness historic achievements that Vietnamese people had made during the country’s renovation progress led by the Party.
Chen Zhili stressed that her visit was a further step towards enhancing the partnership and co-operation between
Viet Nam and
China.
She wished that the Vietnamese people, under the Party leadership, would continue to make greater achievements.
Manh asked Chen Zhili to send his regards and congratulations to Chinese Party General Secretary and President Hu Jintao and chairman of the National People’s Congress Wu Bangguo.
The same day, chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Phu Trong welcomed Chen Zhili and exchanged opinions with her about measures to cope with negative impacts of the world economic downturn.
Chen Zhili stressed that
China was ready to join hands with
Viet Nam in dealing with difficulties caused by the world financial crisis.
Trong also said that the two legislative bodies should further co-operate and exchange experiences in law making, supervision and making decisions on the country’s important issues.
On this occasion, the chairman asked Chen to send his invitation to chairman of the National People’s Congress Wu Bangguo to make an official visit to
Viet Nam.
Earlier, in a meeting with Chen Zhili, National Assembly vice chairwoman Tong Thi Phong also affirmed that Viet Nam had always attached much importance to developing relations with neighbouring countries including China. — VNS
